ran 9miles this morning; a.m. heart rate was 46, not bad considering the running the last few days. still shows how much my heart is ahead of my legs. and despite the pf tightness i went out with gail and ran her 4 mile loop with her. very pretty along the river. the crews were out working on the lower path but they let us by. very cold start, but we managed to keep moving and warm up.
when gail headed home i crossed over botley road and headed south on the thames towards christ church park. got as far as grand pont park and did the big loop in the park as it goes way back and wasn't too wet despite the snow. then came back and did the smaller loop and headed south again down to the bridge we cross over to get to cc park. but turned back north. i knew the legs were not going to want to stay out forever today no matter how strong the rest of me felt.
up the thames towards osney lock, but ran another grandpont loop on the way as i decided to get 9 miles in rather than 7 and i knew i could add a loop later. then back up the thames and around osney island and over to the north hinksey bike path. did the run towards north hinksey village but not as far as the rugby stadium as the sky was now turning black and hail and sleet were predicted for later in the morning.
back up to the bike path and all the way to osney island again and then to the king george trail and up to the store for some breakfast groceries and fresh bread- why can't we get spinach and tomato bread at home -or can we and i need to find where ?
9 plus miles in and legs made it. eventually the piriformis will want time off before it messes up the itb and whatever else, but the xtra stretching seems to be holding it off and i can take the little bit of pain for now.
off to center city to run errands and if it is not snowing or sleeting i will head up to the range later. with a little less rain this week maybe i will go bus exploring again.
