today's run, etc----
just time for a short blog today. way behind on my emails also, but will catch up tomorrow. too much paperwork to do tonight still. quick overview of today. on tired legs i ran 6 miles this morning in the sun for a change. weather predicts 5 days ahead in high 60's and low 70's and only two days of rain. UV is climbing also and the sun can be really hot here so will be a little careful. should have run 4 miles, but once you are out there you have to get home and i wanted to run to the ATM machine while i was out.
had a chance to hit some balls while gail wrote up some stuff on her book and hit wedges and a nine iron working on trying to have one takeaway move instead of two. went ok and am getting closer to a somewhat more consistent idea of what i am trying to do.
after the range we went for a walk to jericho and went through a used book store and picked up a few books. then went to the movie to see "happy go lucky". save your money if you still have time and see something else. good acting, a little character study, but not much else and it is probable that the lead actress will drive you crazy.
then we went to the jericho cafe for dinner and had a decent enough small meal. cannot expect miracles for only $44. so we stopped for ice cream on the way home as well as some breakfast stuff. an ok outing despite the movie being so-so at best. add 4+ miles of walking to the run and everyday it seems turns into a 10 mile day.
have some work to do here and have to go. will miss seeing the kentucky derby tonight, but they are showing horse jumping tomorrow so gail will be happy. tomorrow is one of the two days of rain so we will adjust. had hoped to run some sprints, but seems likely one of the next two days needs to be a day off. will see....
off i go- will catch up tomorrow i hope-or monday, a bank holiday day and everywhere i need to go will be closed.
