hard to believe how little you can do and get done on some days and today was one of those days. skipped the run as planned and also skipped wales as we never were able to find a place to stay there. will see if we can resurrect that. did go to the driving range where i was almost, but not quite as horrible as yesterday. what can i say? i missed in both directions and had my block, slice, shank and hook working as well as my groundball shot. also hit an occasional really nice ball. tried 200 balls and went home and watched the "open" on bbc2. saw els shoot an 80. had empathy. i might not have broken 200 there today. Birkdale is a beautiful course and reminded me a lot of County Down. as much as i hate golf right now i do love links golf. it is an entirely different animal.
then home and gail and i took a long walk around the parks and along the thames. stopped to buy vegetables for dinner along with our pasta and mousse. never did get the heavy rain today.
the highlight of the day was an email from the very first intern i helped get into our program. who just had her third child. she had also copied another intern from our first class. two of our best and the nicest of people. great to hear from them. i was so disappointed when my last computer's virus wiped out all of my email addresses and of course, since i had to change email addresses when we moved i just lost touch with many people.
anyway- working on-line and cleaning up stuff here. 12 days to go and lots to do. will be curious to see how it all gets done. i might have mentioned that we had the first of two house inspections and it turns out the landlord is giving the house to his daughter so i suspect that everything will get fixed. words to describe that situation would be less than nice for a family blog.
