travel day

never did finish yesterday's blog, but basically i ran 5 tired miles in the morning and then spent the next few hours dealing with the house and getting ready to go to england. also hit 120 pitch shots and some putts in the backyard.

the trip here was mostly uneventful-the way i like it. the usual challenges of checking in and security were not too bad ass they have gotten better at doing it more quickly. it is funny how differently each country does things. we still do the most here in the usa from what i have seen.

plane was ok and even though they said we would leave a little early, we ended up leaving 25 minutes late. lucky that there was not a full plane and i had nobody sitting next to me and neither did beth as we were a couple of rows apart. with so many empty seats on the plane i find it amusing that the virgin people could not change our seats to be next to each other. worked out ok in the long run and we ended up changing seats later in the flight. i did get to watch "the valley of elah" which i mostly didn't like. the acting was good, but the story didn't grab me at all. read mostly on the plane and snuck in 3 hour of sleep.

and back to oxford and binsey lane and the tent we live in. i am almost too depressed to say i am depressed and i promised i would be positive so i will be- how's that. a quick run to the store and bank and a little lunch and then while beth got some needed sleep to fight her case of flu i headed up to the range with my 3 wedges and hit 100 balls. for whatever reason i hit them better than i have in three weeks or so. working mostly on the last two lessons of stuff and had some nice tempo. i still think that when i am home and get to hit 800 pitch shots a week i get a nice tempo that carries over to my longer swing. and granted these were just wedges but they were hit ok 90% of the time. like it when they make that nice sound of a cleanly hit ball and they stop on the green quickly so i know there was some spin on them.

and got a ride home from a guy i played golf with at magnolia park. and here i am about to unpack, in a house with one cat instead of two., the noisy crying cat no less. should be a good week ahead. everyone says i missed some horrible weather. no rain today as predicted. the weather service here is really hit and miss and not all their fault as we're stuck between systems most of the time.

125 days to go- it's a really pretty country, but it is time to go home.
