fish and chips sort of day

on virtually no sleep last night, i went out and ran 7 miles with 25 x 42 yard striders and a few longer pickups. run went ok and it was a really nice day - rain had stopped and the sun was out. almost rare. then did some house stuff and went off to hit balls, trying to work on yesterday's really bad mistakes. went better today and gave small hope for the future.

we decided to head out for dinner and went up past cornmarket to queen st to the carfax fish and chips place. this is the ultimate dive of a chips place, but for $25 you get some decent haddock and pretty good chips-fries. all served on a paper towel and a grudingly given napkin. no utensils as per usual. we did get a very small somewhat wooden thing of a fork -ha.
still, we're used to this now and the people were friendly and the food was tasty and there was nothing to clean up. to celebrate that we stopped at marks and spencer's and got a newspaper and a small chocolate cheesecake for dessert.

all good and now to do some quick catch up while gail works on her book and then an attempt to get some sleep. tomorrow night will be another long one as i have a 3am deadline on bidding. all fun in some perverse way.

giants win!! good for them - baseball is almost here.
if this is a tired sounding post it catches the mood.
